Easter: Resurrection from Restriction

April 12, 2020

Bible Text: Luke 24:1-9 |

What do we do when the tradition Easter activities and traditions are suspended? Easter this year is not the same with the shelter in place and the rule of social distancing implemented and as unfortunate as it is, this is how it was at the first Easter. Easter was simpler, less having to do with chocolate bunnies and more to do with the risen Jesus. The women at the first Easter remind us that celebrating Easter doesn’t demand festivals, it requires trust and hope in resurrection. Easter tells us whatever fear and difficulty we face now is not the end or last word. Jesus gets the last word and that word is, hope.
