For Jesus and apostles, Israel’s physical deliverance at the Red Sea became a code word for salvation. Today’s sermon is the finale in our two-part sermon series on the scissor blades of salvation. CS Lewis said, “the debate about faith and works is like asking which blade in a pair of scissors is most important.” Works and faith are both needed. Last week we covered work from faith in the story of Passover. They did their role and followed instructions as God led them out of Egypt. Today is the other blade of scissors, faith from work.
