CS Lewis once said, “Regarding the debate about faith and works: It’s like asking which blade in a pair of scissors is most important.” Both blades are needed for salvation scissors. This brings us to our story today. Through Israel’s exodus story from Egypt’s slavery, we can see how faith and works pair with each other. I want share a two-part sermon series on faith and works through two classic stories of the Exodus. The first is the Passover story which focuses on the works from faith. Part II is on the parting of the Red Sea about faith from works.
